2 Minute Pin Cushion and Needle Box

I have seen so many quickie pin-cushions lately and I love them all. My favorite is the baby food jar pin cushion from The Life of Jennifer Dawn. I decided to make a fun storage pin cushion of my own, but I used an empty jewelry box.

Materials needed:
empty jewelry box
stuffing
scrap fabric
ribbon
hot glue

Glue a ball of stuffing to the top of the jewelry box lid.

Cover the lid and the stuffing with a piece of scrap fabric. Glue the fabric in place around the edges of the lid.

Don't worry if the edges are bumpy because they will be covered with ribbon. Just make sure the top is smooth.

Wrap ribbon around the edges of the box to cover the edges of the fabric and give it a more finished look.

What other things do you have lying around that you could turn into a pin cushion?

Happy Crafting!

  4. This is such a cute idea!! And would make a nice little gift for a beginning sewer. I've made pincushions out of picture frames and teacups, but I totally love this idea! I might have to make one of these too. Thanks for sharing
