Teacher Christmas Gift: Spool Ornament

Lately I have been mulling over what to make for my daughter's kindergarten teacher for Christmas. She is such a wonderful teacher and has really made Samantha love school. This is what I came up with:

This was such an easy project. I started with a vintage wood spool and an old dictionary.

Cut out the definition for "teach", size it to the spool and mod podge it on.

These are a few others I made

Place a trinket or bead onto organza ribbon and thread it through the hole of the spool. Make sure the bead is larger than the hold in the spool. This keeps the spool on the ribbon. Tie the top of the ribbon and voila! You have a beautiful ornament that your child's teacher can hang on her tree or near her desk.

Happy Crafting!

hmmm, you could write all kinds of stuff and roll it on a spool.

  3. This has to be one of the cutest ideas I have seen in a long time! I'm pinning this and adding it to my "to do" list! Would you please share this with our readers for Fun Stuff Fridays linky party?
