Time Capsule Ornaments

This Christmas will be the 8th Christmas I have spent with my husband and my daughter's 7 Christmas. It seems like just yesterday my husband and I were sitting in a booth at Denny's on Christmas night. We both craved pizza and mozzarella sticks were the closest thing we could find. :)
With time speeding by so quickly I decided it was time to start documenting the holidays a little better. I found some clear ornaments on sale at Michael's and brought them home for the family. We all wrote down (or dictated) our ages, our favorite things, and what we were the most thankful for this year.

The pieces of paper were rolled up and placed inside our ornaments along with a few small things that symbolized each member of the family. Ryan added a USB to his and I put a small spool of thread, yarn and a button in my ornament.

Samantha added a pink feather, doll shoes, and a sequin to show off her fancy side.

Dax added a battery, a crayon, and a Cars 2 logo.

We couldn't find an Elmo small enough for Phil so we clipped a piece off of his baby blanket and added it to his ornament along with a little yellow star.

Finally, I wrote every one's name in glitter on their ornament and hung them on the tree.

It will be so wonderful to look back in 10 years and see how things have changed and how they have stayed the same. One thing that will never change is our love for one another. That is the true spirit of this season and the greatest gift of all.

Happy Holidays!
