My Favorite Subway Series Memory

As I watch the Yankees/Mets game with my husband and children I can't help but remember the Subway Series of 2000. I am a die-hard Yankees fan and my silly mother is a rabid Mets fan. Yes...I said rabid. :) That wonderful year that the Yankees and Mets played each other in the World Series my mom and I had a blast taunting each other over who was going to win. Of course the Yankees won. That wasn't much of a surprise.

During the last game of the series we ran masking tape down the center of the living room. My mom's half of the room was the Mets side and my half of the room was the Yankees side and we fought over which side the cat was on. Just thinking about this makes me smile.

My childhood wasn't all cupcakes and lollipops, but my mother made it fun. She is my inspiration and the reason why I have so much fun with my own children. Thanks for the great memory, Mom. I love you--even if you are a Mets fan.
