How to Make a Blog Button

1. If you don't already have your button designed you can use fotoflexer.com or picnik.com to make one from scratch. They have great fonts and stickers you can use. 

You can also go to shabbyblogs.com or graphicsfairy.blogspot.com to find button backgrounds and pics. 

2. Just upload these pics to one of the photo sites and add your text. Save them to your computer.

3. Upload your saved pic to www.photobucket.com.

4.  I use this site to generate my buttons: http://www.mycoolrealm.com/sandbox/gbgen/ 

5. On Blogger go to the Design tab and click on "Add a Gadget".

6. Select "HTML/Java Script" and paste the code that was generated from MyCoolRealm.

7. Save your changes and your button is done.

Mod Podge Corner Shelf

I feel so accomplished! I FINALLY did something about the wooden corner shelf that has been sitting in my closet for months. Yes...I do want a cookie. :) 

Here is what I did:

I bought this for a buck at D.I.

I painted it with antique white paint

After the paint dried, I Mod Podged scrapbook paper on the shelves and posts

I was so excited to hang my new shelf that I risked waking the baby to hammer it into the wall.  Luckily, the monkey was really tired from torturing me all night and slept through it. :) I LOVE how it turned out.

Dry Erase Behavior/Potty Board

I love behavior charts. Not only do they work, but they make me feel like a kindergarten teacher. I found a great site for behavior charts, but I hated the idea of throwing the paper away when the chart was full. I have seen adorable framed menus and to-do lists all over the blogosphere that use the glass as a dry-erase area. The person who originally came up with this idea is my idol. 

I purchased a couple of wooden document frames from Dollar Tree and painted them with my kids' favorite colors. I printed out a couple of behavior charts from www.freeprintablebehaviorcharts.com and hung them on my kitchen wall. This site also has chore charts and potty charts for FREE!!

Pretty Bow Giveaway Winners

Homemade Sidewalk Paint

Here is a fun little concoction that combines two of my kids' favorite things: Painting and playing outside. I know they sell sidewalk paint at the store, but this costs almost nothing to make and you can choose your own colors.

Ingredients: (per color)

1/4 C cornstarch

1/4 C water

food coloring

Stir the water and cornstarch together until the cornstarch is completely dissolved. 

Add the desired amount of food coloring and stir.

Repeat for each color.

I used 4 oz baby food containers to store the paints and they were the perfect size. We used the small sponge brushes to paint the sidewalk.

I recommend smocks or painting clothes for this activity

These were such a big hit that I had neighborhood kids knocking on my door asking me to make them paint. That being said, you may want to make some extra paint. :)
