Pin Wheel Wreath Revisited

I posted how to make a pinwheel wreath last summer and it got a great response, so I decided to post it again for my newer followers. This is still one of my favorite wreaths. I hope you enjoy it!

What You Need To Know To Customize Your Blog

Over the last year or so I have changed the appearance of my blog several times. I really like the way it looks now, but there are still a few small changes that need to be done. I've made all the changes myself, and while I figured some of it out on my own, I would not have gotten far if it wasn't for the help of those much smarter than me. I have spent hours and hours searching the internet for tutorials, and I've compiled them all here to save YOU time when you decided to make changes to your own blog.

Fancy Bow Picture Tutorial

Materials needed:

Ribbon

Hot Glue

Scissors

Cut your ribbon into 4 equal strips

Glue the ribbon into a circle.
You can sew these, but I say if you can't glue it, don't do it.

Place a dot of hot glue on the inner seam 

Press down

Criss cross the ribbons and hot glue them together

Stack the 2 criss-crossed bows and hot glue together

You can stack different sized bows and add detail

Here is what you can do with your snazzy little bows!

Duct Tape Rose Tutorial

Materials needed:
Duct tape
Skewer, toothpick, or floral wire


To make a duct tape rose:

Step 1: Tear your tape into strips.

Step 2: Fold the right corner over stopping short of the left edge.

Step 3: Fold the left corner over to meet the right.

Step 4: Wrap your petal around the stem. 

This is what your first petal will look like.

Step 5: Continue wrapping the petals around each other.

Add petals until you reach your desired fullness.

A rose that never needs watering.

Rosette Tutorial

Materials needed:
Fabric strips
Hot glue gun/ hot glue 


To make the fabric rosettes:Cut 1.5 inch wide strips of fabric and tie off the ends.

Twist the fabric and wrap it into a spiral shape. To make turning the spiral easier you can set the fabric on a piece of felt or just turn it on a smooth surface like a table. Add a dot of hot glue or fabric glue to the edge every half inch or so to secure the spiral.

Once you reach the other tied off end, glue it to the back of the rosette.
To make the leaves cut a circle of green felt into quarters. Glue a piece of felt to the back of the flower so the end it sticking out.

Paper Rose Tutorial

To make the paper roses: 

Stack 3 pages together at a time. This will make the roses look much better than a single page.

 Cut out 3 to 4" spirals from the stack of book pages. 

You can draw a spiral on the paper to make it easier, but after the 20th time I didn't need to follow the lines anymore.

Draw a spiral on your page. It doesn't have to be perfect.

Starting from the outside of the spiral, roll the paper tightly. As you get closer to the ends loosen the paper to make the rose fan out.

The inside of the spiral makes a circle. When you have rolled the paper to the circle dab hot glue on the bottom of the rose and fold the circle over it. This will keep the rose from unwrapping. If you use three pages you will need to glue the remaining to circles together.

Roll until you reach the circle at the end of the spiral

Glue the under side of the rose.

Fold the circle over the glued part of the rose.
